Cubes add to 100.
1 + 8 + 27 + 64 = 100.
Maybe I can use this to set up a
3-D geometrical way to memorize
double digits of pi out further.
--------------------------
I'm also memorizing square roots
with a double digit tree formation.
For example:
12 -> 46 -> 78 -> 83 -> 11 -> 31 -> 56 -> 48 -> 92 -> 59 -> 68 -> 24 -> 89 -> 43 -> 55 -> 41 -> 40 -> 32 -> 65 -> 06 -> 44 -> 63 -> 93 -> 64 -> 00
This is because sqroot12 is 3.46... sqroot46 is 6.78...
And 60 goes to 74, which goes back to 60.
Because sqroot 60 is 7.74 and sqroot 74 is 8.60
Pretty fun, almost got it all down from 1 to 100.
Next I hope to memorize 110, 120, 130 to 990 sqroots.

And 60 goes to 74, which goes back to 60.
So it gets trapped in a loop there.

I wonder what the longest chain is? You can put a 17 in front of that 12 to make your chain a bit longer, and I think that's as far as that particular one goes. Do you think there's a longer one?
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

You're right mathsy, and also 75 -> 66, which goes to 12, so that is the longest on my notes I have written. Check out my new avatar, I'm done celebrating my super-membership, and now I must go biking to lose weight again. The bike is a Trek Y26. See how there is a gap below the seat. There is a spring and a shock absorber in there. But in the cold weather the shock has changed its damping characteristics such that I made my own adjustment for the winter by filling half of the spring up with clay that hardens like steel to stiffen the bike up. Like it.

77 is an interesting place to start.

Yes the old 77 keeps coming back.
How about 555 -> 558, can you find one that is closer together??
Or more interesting somehow?
....
Oh, I just found 232 --> 231, this is the closest I think.
And 417 -> 420 is 3 off like 555 to 558.

I think you've already found all the interesting things about the 3-digit square roots.
I found that 5711 and 9797 both start their square roots with themselves though.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

i dont get it

Take the square root of 5711 on your calculator, Kurre, and you'll see the 5711 come up in the decimal.

i think i know the longest chain to make 100 2-1+2-1+2-1+2-1 ect
