The thing is ... the maximum amount of posts embedded in each other is three. So you will never get your 'long quote' ...

If you type more than three, the outer-most three are kept and the rest are removed automatically, I think.

Not that this is OK or anything, but I hope everyone realises that this is not increasing their postcount anymore.

Also, the quote chain would eventually stop, if the object of the game is to get it immensely large...

But one thing I don't understand; Will characters be counted in quotes?

I think they are at the moment. It'd be a good upgrade if they weren't though.
