Hello

Greetings. My name is Josh.

I'm a college student currently wandering around academia in search of a subject to target for my studies. So far my excitement for math seems to have been the only constant. I really enjoy teaching mathematical concepts to people, especially on the pure math side of things. Learning is fun too, but not nearly as fun as teaching.

I have been lurking around this forum for quite some time, learning interesting bits of math here and there. Some of it has been way beyond my current scope (presently I am taking Differential Equations) but I have tried to take what I can from everything I find.

I am interested in the "cool stuff" forum especially. I find the discussions about pi, 0.999..., and other strange artifacts of different maths fascinating.

I hope to participate in some discussions now that I am registered.

How odd that you should be so close. It's actually a shortening of "Securis Denique ex Lia Ivel et Mens DeCaritas," the latter two being his parents in my fictional world. I've used it as a screen name since I was little, having thought up of the character early on. It's also the most original name I've ever come up with.

But that's the humanities side of me; this here forum's for math!

The one and only. I'm not used to being Googled.

Lia's last name was at one time Ivelius, but I changed it to Ivel.
