I tripped over a book lying on the floor of the bedroom today... I slipped then landed on my big toe. In two seconds, I heard a crack as if a bone in my body had split in two. Then came the pain that has been driving me nuts for hours. I can't walk without being in pain, the bottom of my toenail is bright red... advice on how to stop the pain?

Do you have access to actual medical care?
Someone knowledgeable could look at it and bend it OUCH,
or maybe even X-ray it for breaks.

Well, I may have to get driven all the way to the Medical Center to have it examined. My mum may even treat me, she works there
I just need a cast for my foot and crutches to use until I can walk properly again.

The doctor at the hospital said there was no broken bones or spraining. I have to wear a tight bandage on my foot for three weeks, and I feel like I've been mummified...

I have had some serious injury too , one time , When I was using a dagger to pierce a plastic cover ,the dagger slipped and it pierced right through my palm. But I am sure U had more pain than me ,because when a dagger went through my palm , I couldn't feel a thing.

How on Earth is that lucky? Without being able to be active at all and not even walking about properly, you'll become unfit, which isn't good, is it?
Choco, my ankle was broken once. Skating accident. I was on crutches and a bandage for more than 8 weeks, and I had to rest all the time, use ice for my ankle, compress the ankle, and exercise it a lot. It's called the RICE method, and that definitely helps if you use it over a good period of time.
When I couldn't find my crutches, I hopped about everywhere.

The doctor at the hospital said I had to keep it on until I could walk properly again. My dad now nicknames me 'Hop-Along' because I don't have crutches and my foot bandaged up can't fit into any type of shoe...

I managed to put shoes on.
But, it was painful at times when the shoes were tight. And many people do not know that you don't feel pain on impact of the fracture, but afterwards.

It's going to be living tortue trying to get all the way to school tommorow, what with one shoe on and one shoe off.
I wonder if my mum will get crutches for me...

What about walking on your heel?

The bandage covers my heel... and the grounds of my school are covered in soil, wood chippings and so on.
Sort of like a forest floor. That's why I need crutches.

Lol! Poor you guys... Can't you get a wheelchair or crutches? Crutches would be ideal but wouldn't it damage part of your arm or wrist or hand?

No, it wouldn't. In fact, it exercises your arms, too. I wouldn't say it is good as it may cause strain, but it wouldn't damage anything, really.

My mum won't allow me to get crutches, it's just a bruise. But I really need them- school starts tommorow, and how on Earth am I going to get my bandage into a shoe?!

Come on, it isn't that much pain. You could fit it in the shoe, definitely, with or without the bandage. I even tried walking with a broken ankle with shoes on but to no avail. I had to hop because of not being able to walk.

Well, I ended up with a new bandage. The only shoe I could fit it in was a worn-out trainer from months ago (I think I wore it when I came to Australia) and I had to wear the other one to school as well When I was fixing the bandage up someone accidently stepped on the toe I bruised badly. There was a teacher in the room but I cursed very badly because of the pain, and I don't usually curse. Also, I screamed and weeped. Imagine
