Characters for Mathsisfun

Which of these characters would be good for the website? (Think about how a character will affect people's views etc on mathematics and the website)

Whatever we choose (or some new alternative you may think of), the artist (Catherine Harrell http://www.catherineharrell.com/) can then make lots of poses for use all over the site.

I like the dog quivering it's tail in excitement, and generally those people who [are smiling]/[have books in their hands].

Re: Characters for Mathsisfun

Thanks Identity.

Any other votes? You can just say "3rd boy and 2nd girl" if they are your preferences.

Re: Characters for Mathsisfun

Far bottom right girl.  And I don't really have a reason... call it intuition.

Devantè says: I suggest the bottom right-hand girl and the top left-hand boy. I don't know why I picked them, I just think that they are an appropriate pair. For instance, the boy in the cap looks like a thief. tongue

Re: Characters for Mathsisfun

Names for the characters?
Coloured in figures?

Pet Animals? - parrot called Poly-gon (very obvious, but might appeal to younger users of the site)
Boy Name : RON (Using protractor/ drawing angles, Right Outside numbers)
Girl : LIN (Protractor use, Left Inside Numbers)

Any good?

Right, obviously I've been working too hard so off for a lie down now! adios

Re: Characters for Mathsisfun

Thanks. Bottom right girl is a winner.

Having a boy would also be good, so here are three variations to choose from.
Plus some younger kids ... what do you think of them?

Re: Characters for Mathsisfun

Of the bottom row ... my vote lies with right girl again.

Sorry, but I don't really like any of the boys at the top! But if I have to pick one, probably top left.

Re: Characters for Mathsisfun

Agree with last message. Not sure that a cap would portray the right image for the site. Any other images to see? I like the general idea though.
