All these ideas seem good.

Good idea.:D

Math exam exercises? Do you mean practicing?

Re: About the Exercises

Well, I prefer not to refer to them as exams. Exams are usually like SATs or GCSEs, and things that you will need to take before pursuing a good career. These exercises are optional; They are good practice, but it is always good to revise whenever you want to, in bitesize chunks. Not that you would eat an exercise.

Re: About the Exercises

'cool' as in "that's a cool idea", or 'cool' as in 'the exercises are cool'?

Re: About the Exercises

I think it would help a great deal if the exercises were ordered into categories, is there any chance of it being done very soon?

Re: About the Exercises

It is hard create an new exercise thread at the risk of creating a thread which is identical to one which is on the 2nd or 3rd page, hidden among the clutter and thus create a duplicate thread. If there were categories you could simply check the category which concerns the type of exercises you will be posting and thus save time in ascertaining whether you should create a new thread or simply post in an already existing thread of the same topic. I think the threads in the 'Formulas' forum provide a good outline for the categories which could be selected.

Re: About the Exercises

The current software doesn't support categories. But I can enhance it to allow sorting alphabetically, so if we follow a naming scheme it would be nearly as good.

Something like: Level - Subject - Topic

As this board increases in both the amount of exercise topics and branches of mathematics covered, perhaps subboards should be created in order to help sort out the exercises. For example, opening the "Exercises" board leads the user to another directory, with different boards for different subjects, such as "Arithmetic", "Algebra", "Geometry", "Calculus", etc.

A very good suggestion, indeed!

That should be the ideal solution!
I don't know what level A or level B would mean in other places, but I guess identifying them with age or in categories like High School (11-14 years), Pre-University(15-16 years), College(17-19 years), Advanced (19+ years) should be universally (or globally) acceptable! cool

Re: About the Exercises

First, I need to get them to sort alphabetically.

But also we need the levels to *be* alphabetical. (E)lementary, (H)igh School, (U)niversity works, but finer divisions needs imagination.

Re: About the Exercises

(2,4) are not divisible by any twin primes. This is because 2 is never part of any twin prime pair. Another example I can think of is (489, 491).

√144 = 12. Also, that number is known as a gross.

Hi! This forum is amazing!
Thanks for your help!
One question,I used to have fun playing tessellation when I was young and I would to share that with my grandson.
Do you know a good website on this topic?
