Well, we've had John Howard for 11 years, in fact for most of my life John Howard's been Prime Minister, but just tonight Kevin Rudd won the election! I don't really prefer one party over the other, but wow... it feels so weird to have such a change. Didn't expect it to happen so soon either, I thought the results would be in tomorrow. It's still on tv now - on every single channel - Ruddy's making his speech... god he's got the bigggeest smile ever, he's using lots of cool adjectives. I wonder what he will be like as PM!
Well, Discuss!

or not... I guess politics isn't such an interesting subject

Definitely politics is really not an interesting topic for discussion ......but i believe it needs to be discussed as we need good and able leaders. We thus need to know people and why we want them to be there. ......i understand that politics is dark but the intensity of light i.e good discussion will reduce that darkness....

A new broom sweeps clean
He may be like Tony Blair was for the UK.

Yeah, it seems like there aren't many people who dislike him. Also, he speaks Chinese!

Let's hope the similarity with Tony only takes into account Tony's first two terms.
I wonder what Chinese sounds like in an Aussie accent? Can you find any video clips of him speaking it?
From what I've read of him, Kevin sounds like he has some wholesome priorities around people and the environment. You Aussies are probably in for a political treat. The US and the UK are trying to recover from a political unhappiness at the moment. The only difference is that in the States, the media seems to be trying to counter it and in the UK the media seems to be egging it on!

Here's a clip. Although he may be reading off his notes, it does sound pretty fluent

Yeah, I saw the video. He sounds like he had lessons, or is just reading off the notes and can do a very good Chinese accent.

I read 'prime minister' as 'prime number'
I was sorely disappointed...

Let Kevin Rudd be a prime number P such that P is the only prime that is a Prime Minister...

Does the set of prime ministers have a greatest element?
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Yes. The set of prime ministers is a finite set of [P1,Pg] where P1 and Pg are the min and max of the personal opinion function.
My Pg is Winston Churchill.

Surely [P1,Pg] denotes the set of real prime ministers P such that P1 ≤ P ≤ Pg, and thus is uncountable?
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Don't be silly. Prime Ministers aren't Real; they're Naturals.

I think some of this confusion is due to the personal opinion function.
We should define it properly.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Let Op(p) be the Opinion[personal] of p, where p is the sum of all a Prime Minister's acheivements.
Then Op(p) = x, where x denotes the magnitude of the greatness of Prime Minister P such that:
P1 ≤ P(1+x) ≤ Pg
EDIT: I hope 100' isn't dissapointed anymore
