Yes, and I went thru all the ways the 3 people could have played against each other (or partially) instead of with the others, and then the numbers come out funny, and 75 is not attainable.

In case you didn’t notice, I already answered that question above.

Iinitially there were 15 players, and it was planned to have 105 matches altogether. If the 3 players who pulled out had not joined in the first place, there would have been just 12 players and 66 matches. The 39 matches in the difference would have involved those 3 players (they break down into 3 matches against each other and the other 36 against the 12 who stayed in the competition). Only 9 of those 39 matches were played. So the total number of matches was 66 + 9 = 75.

Re: Oral puzzles

The key phrase you missed and then thought I was disagreeing with you was:
"instead of with the others" because that is how it occurred.  The 9 games were played with the other healthy ones, not mutually shared pre-sick contestant games, because the sharing of games creates fewer total games, but from each pre-sick persons point of view, they could count the games as originally stated in the problem asked by ganesh.

Re: Oral puzzles

#448. Anne and Michel each have goats. Michel says to  Anne :"If you give me one of your goats, I will have double of what you will have remaining".
Anne replies :"If you give me one of your goats, we will have exactly the same number of goats". How many goats do Anne and Michel have?

#449. Two candles are the same length. Both are lit at the same time.
The first candle (#1) burns six hours before it extinguishes itself.
The second candle (#2) burns three hours before it extinguishes itself.
For how much time must candle #1 burn before it is twice the length of candle #2 ?

I'm sorry. I am sometimes very unclear.
I do agree with your 66 + 9 computation.
By all means I do.
I am just talking about the details
of how it occurred.
I was pointing out what did not occur, and
that which did not occur was any two
pre-sickly players playing against each other.
That's all.  Hope that clears it up.

Or it might even just be 1111 in base N, where N is any supergigantic positive integer you name.
