Doesn't it seem quite strange that very few guests are posting in this forum at the moment? I remember when there used to be a lot of guests posting in this forum. For example, just look at the difference in post times. Surely we used to get a lot of posts in the guestbook even in the inactive days ... that's right, before more wonderful users came along.
Ideas?

No, the Guestbook isn't just about spam, it is about feedback of the site. MathsIsFun's idea makes sense, but it can't be that all of our traffic comes from the US ...

About half I would say.

Quite likely... I haven't met anyone around here interested in math; even those few who are good at it pretend to be terrible at it because it "isn't cool" to be smart.

This is not true, in fact, it is the complete opposite.

I think what's "cool" changes as you grow up. In Junior School, it's cool to be fascinated in sciences, in Mid school it's not cool to be smart, in High school smart people get to make fun of others.

What on earth happened to the Guestbook? I remember there used to be dozens of messages per day in here! Now I see barely any messages in a month ...

The forum needs more promotion if we want more visitors.

What kind of promotion?
I am asking this because I have some suggestions in my mind.....
Has it got anything to do with the print media?
Or promotion by approaching the Education Institutions directly, with gifts to offer....
Or any other mode?
Hey, have you all noticed the change in MathsIsFun's avatar?

I noticed that! I tend to use avatars to identify people, so I didn't even realise the second poster was MIF until Devantè mentioned him and I looked again.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

From my experience i say that we should promote because 90% of the kids i kno dont kno about this site.
How bout facebook groups for promotion?
many ppl use facebook and i guess they will join/glance at this site if they see on facebook.:/

Yes! I changed my Avatar to my new puppy! He is a fast and alert little dude.
Promotion on the web is easiest, and costs nothing. So Facebook sounds like a good idea.

I would not want to be a politician... Let me tell you this: If I was campaigning, and I go against my opponent and he started attacking my character, and I leap over the table and choke him unconscious, would that help my campaign? --Chuck Norris--
