three angles of a triangle are 5x+3y, 10y+30 and 3x+20
what is the value of x+y
any idea ?
this question is asked on a mathematical competition.
what are the uses of zoomable number line?
answer for question no. 2 in my way.
here
squraring both sides we get
thanks Bob
I made a mistake in the question. corrected question is
I also edited Initial post.
I check the identity for x=1,2,3, 4 and they all are true.
thanks
but is still not getting to proof.
interesting answer. Here i find that the non parallel sides are divided into 1:3 ratio.
Sorry for mistake Here is corrected questions
how to find the lower quartile of the following data
2,5,7,9,10,11
x^2 + y^2 = 170, which is a circle centred about the origin with radius root(170). This has an infinite number of solutions.
the equations given are of two variable and for two variable equation only two equation of different condition are required
Given equations are sufficient for finding the value of x and y.
x(x+y)=205
y(x-y)=35
i have solve it but i want tricky answer or solving method.
plz help me
ABCD is a quadrilateral. M and N are midpoints of diagonals BD and AC respectively. BA and CD are produced to meet at E.
Prove that area of triangle MNE is equal to one fourth of quadrilateral ABCD.
alternative method
Let P(x,0) be the point in x-axis
Now slope of PA is (2-0)/(1-x) and the slope of the line PB is (3-0)/(8-x)
Since PA and PB are perpendicular
product of two slopes is -1 hence
{(2-0)/(1-x)}*{(3-0)/(8-x)}=-1
which on simplifying
6=-8+9x-x^2
x^2-9x+14=0
Or, (x-2)(x-7)=0
or x=2,7
Hence the required points are (2,0) and (7,0)
let the coordinates of the point P is (x,y)
Now we can consider the points A(1,2) and B(8,3) as the points of end points of diameter of the circle which passes through A, B and P
Now the equation of the circle is (x-1)(x-2)+(y-8)(y-3)=0
Since the Point lies in the x axis, y=0
Now the above equation becomes (x-1)(x-2)+24=0
which is quadratic equation now solve the equation we get the required answer.
Sorry the question is wrong. And sorry for not responding for long time.
Now the question is
We know that only one circle can be drawn which passes through all the vertex of a given triangle. So i concluded that there must be relation between the sides (and hence its area) of the triangle and the area of the circle. Is it my guessing wrong? If not what is the relation between the area of triangle and the area of the circle?
actually the equation was given by a student of my friend and has aslo has solution that is 2a/sqrt5.
how does it come?
please help me to solve the equation in terms of a and b
then can we solve the equation in terms of a?
yes and thanks JaneFairFax
actually i am confusing on giving the exponets.
can any one solve? please.
i love trigonometry and i want more excercise on this topic specially in conditional identities. Can any one give some sites name?
solve for x
a shopkeeper uses two kinds of balace.
one weights 10% and other is 10% less.
he uses first one while buying goods and second one while selling goods so that he can make profit.
now how much pecentage does he get on total transaction for the same goods?
we frens tried in our way and we conclude on differen percentage. Can anyone solve these problem with good reasonings.
best regards
good joke Identity
oh sorry
i mean what is the probality of getting solved the same question when the problems is given to both at the same time.
i have edited the question above.
the probality of sovling a math problem by A is 0.25 and that of B is 0.35.
what is th probality that they solve the same problem when they try to solve together?
I know how to do it. But i really dot not uderstand why i am doing so. can anyone help me please?
i did it like that
p(not solving by A)=0.75
p(not solving by B) = 0.65
P( not solving by both)= 0.4875
P(solving by both) = 0.5125
why do we first find the 3rd line?
what is wrong with by finding multiplying 0.25 and 0.35?
