Well... It's not really meant to be offensive!? I've read a lot many jokes involving Canadians, Texans, Europeans, Chinese, Indians, Punjabis <--- lol, Gujrati's, Pathans and many many more. Just caper about it. No offence is intended. neutral

Now you can perform a

Anyways... It was a really nice puzzle and now I'm gonna start with the other one's! wink

I've perhaps got what mathsy meant there! It's really special wink
I'll come to that....

Hi phrontister!

It was a really Terrific Teaser!! wink

I solved it Last Night before going to sleep

Here's the Outline of my Approach...

I'm submitting the solution in Parts because somehow i feel the necessity for the Solution Images to be together with the Explanations. Moreover, its too lengthy for me to type in just one go... I'll take a few hour's break!!!!!

The Questionnaire should look like this after completing Part1...

A * NOT(B) + NOT(A) * B = A XOR B - am I right?

Yes Alex! You are RIGHT! up

That's just the original expression [A+B]*[~A+~B].
When you do the AND operation "*", using the Associative Property, you'll get "A*~A + B*~B" both of which equal 0 cool
and what's left is "A*~B + B*~A" which, you're right, is A⊕B i.e. A(XOR)B.

Glad to Help....... smile

#239 Re: Help Me ! » [HELP] Logic Gates » 2010-05-16 05:23:07

Hi Alex!

Let NOT(A)*NOT(B) + A*B = Q

Now consider different possible valves of "A" and "B" as follows..
A=0, B=0
A=1, B=0
A=0, B=1
A=1, B=1 and calculate respective values of Q.
Make a table of ur values like this..

A   B   Q
0   0   1
etc..

This is called ur Truth Table!
Note: ~A=NOT(A)=0 when A=1 and ~A=NOT(A)=1 when A=0 and so on.

You will find that..
1) Q=A⊗B (X-NOR gate)
2) Q=A⊕B (X-OR gate)

#240 Re: Puzzles and Games » House numbers (my own puzzle) » 2010-05-16 05:05:33

Oh... I meant...

The puzzle won't be UNIQUELY Solveable.. which is as good (or equivalently bad) as not being able to solve it (i.e. figuring out the house number)!!

One should certainly not overlook this possibility though...

Its better now... big_smile

Hi Jane;

Sorry, but I thought your problem was little bit more difficult than the partition of a 11 into 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2.

I am not that familiar with your country. Aren't some English homes numbered by halves and may start as zero.?...

Here is one of my solutions then 4 , 1/2 , 1/2  , 1/2 , 1/2 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1. You live at #4.

The puzzle, in any such scenario, will not be solveable!!?

Its a "Hyper-Meta-Lateral-Meta-Meta-Thinking"!!

Yes! It does! Coz log of -ves are "Not Defined" (you can't blame Napier for that, except for, in case, he was Napping lol)!

Try entering "alternate <space> form <space> your log expression" into WolframAlpha and look at various Alternative Representations!

If u can express your already complex expression in the Polar Form i.e. R.e[sup]iθ[/sup], then you can probably take the Complex Natural Log and change it to form logR+iθ.

I'm not sure if it will help you Simplifying your problem any further...

I'd request you to tell us all a little about how you happened to stumble upon this nice conjecture.

Is there anyone on the set who can give him some pointers?
. . Evidently not.

Beat and tempo
The beat of the music is typically indicated with the conductor's right hand, with or without a baton.

He has his hands about a foot in front of his chest.
He has his index fingers pointing upward.
Then he swivels his wrists so his fingers point this way and that way,
. . sometimes sweeping small arcs.

That's embarrassing and insulting!

Following are a few patterns traced by the movements of hands....

The a fore said arc-like movements are at least OK.  what
