if one side of a triangle has a length of L and another with a length of 3L
express the AREA of this rectangle in terms in terms of L.

area of rectangle equals LW
length times width
so

thank you all so very much i was doing it this way :
i tryed to do that.
i said that the striaght line has to 180 degrees.
so i put 180 = 4x or 2y or 2z...
but answers came out totally different from yours

if its 2
so it would be
2 +- 4

#116 Re: Help Me ! » solve square » 2006-10-13 05:08:54

thanks
but shouldnt it be
4 +- 8
--------
-8

then
-0.5 +- (-1)

#119 Re: Help Me ! » solve square » 2006-10-13 04:35:54

just like this one :
x^2 - 4x - 12 = 0

use the quadratic formula

-(-4) +- sqrt ( (-4)^2 - 4(1)(-12) )
-------------------------------------
2(-4)

4 +- sqrt ((-16) - 4(-48))
--------------------------
-8

4 +- sqrt ( (-16) - (-48) ) >>>>>> sqrt ( -16 + 48)
-------------------------------            --------------------
       -8                                                  -8

4 +- sqrt (64)
----------------
8

now what...thats it or we have to do more?

#120 Re: Help Me ! » Log » 2006-10-13 04:29:53

ok i get it...
like this:

Log1/3 N = -3
log1/3 / logN = -3
Log1/3 = -3logN
log1/3 log (N^-3)
1/3 = N^-3
ok here is where i am getting stuck....

______________________________________________________________

and for this problem also.
log1/3A=-4
log1/3 / logA = -4
log1/3 = -4LogA
log1/3 = log(a^-4)
1/3 = a^-4

Given that :
     ~                 ~
AB = DC and AC = DB, write a two column proof to show that:

                   ~
Triangle ABC = triangle DCB

so how you write the two column proof?

Evaluate:

3^0 4^-1
-----------  x^-2  y^0  z^-4
   4^2

If x = 2, y = 4, and z = 1

i did:

3^0 = 1
4^-1 = 0.25
4^2 = 16
x > 2^-2 = 0.25
y > 4^0 = 1
z > 1^-4 = 1

so then put that in

(1)(0.25)
----------- (0.25)(1)(1)
   16
right so far?

0.25
----- 0.25
16

now
