HELP: with finding Point on the curve.

Hi I need help finding a point on the cuve y=x^3+2x+2
whose tangent line is parallel to the line 3x-y=2 ????
And is there more than one such point?

Please please, help me how to do it, and explain.

Re: HELP: with finding Point on the curve.

You a point on the curve where the derivative is equal to the gradient of the line.
The line's gradient is 3, and the function's derivative is 3x² + 2.

From there, you just equate them and solve for x.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
