There you go, very good.
Remember your last answer
(y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
Do the same thing with math and /math and the same thing with \frac but just put what you want on top in the first set of braces {} and what you want on the bottom in the second, Try it with
(y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

That is excellent. Use that whenever you need to write a fraction, that is what the command \frac means. Just put the top in the first etc.
Remember when you wrote some equations like 2x+8 = 17. Well same thing with math and \math just put 2x + 8 = 17 in between them.
You are now using the typesetting language called Latex. It was designed by Donald E. Knuth for math!

Interesting. Thank you. It makes it much cleaner-looking.

That is very good. Looks like what you see in books. Here is a little trick, see my latex below.
Want to see how I did it. Just double click on it. Now you can copy it and paste it just make sure you always put it between the math and /math tags,

Yep. You know you do not have to type out the math tags. Do not use quick post instead use post reply and on the bottom you will see a math button that will make the math tags for you. Just put your math in between.

Please do not forget this because from now on you will learn more latex and post your math in it.

Okay. Not using the quick post all the time might help me with my typos too.

Use it for other types of things. With the Post reply you also have a preview so you can see what it will look like before you post it.

I have another problem, like the ones we just did. Can--Um I 'm going to post it?/.

Yes, try to latex it. Do it one line at a time. Each line having its own set of math tags.

Okay.
Here is my problem:

You use the point formula.
You know how I showed you. Do you still remember?

Well the first thing is that is the slope. It is used for the point slope formula which I did not show you so as not to confuse you.
Plug in:
Solve for y and clean up
The advantage is you do not have to mess with finding the y intercept, it is all done for you.

Okay, I see where I blotched it. My slope was horribly wrong!

Just remember to label them and plug in right. Next time I will show you how to check that you have the right equation.
