Do the same thing with math and /math and the same thing with \frac but just put what you want on top in the first set of braces {} and what you want on the bottom in the second, Try it with

That is excellent. Use that whenever you need to write a fraction, that is what the command \frac means. Just put the top in the first etc.

Remember when you wrote some equations like 2x+8 = 17. Well same thing with math and \math just put 2x + 8 = 17 in between them.

You are now using the typesetting language called Latex. It was designed by Donald E. Knuth for math!

Yep. You know you do not have to type out the math tags. Do not use quick post instead use post reply and on the bottom you will see a math button that will make the math tags for you. Just put your math in between.

Well the first thing is that is the slope. It is used for the point slope formula which I did not show you so as not to confuse you.

Plug in:

Solve for y and clean up

The advantage is you do not have to mess with finding the y intercept, it is all done for you.
