(2x)² = 4x²

2(2x)(-1/2) = -2x

(-1/2)² = 1/4

= 4x² - 2x + 1/4?

Either way the answer I got was

(0.1x + 0.4y)²

= 0.01x² + 0.08xy + 0.16y²

I most certainly was not. If you must know I had chores, I made some food for my dad and my mom when she got home from work, I had to lay down for about half an hour because my head was killing me and I was dizzy and then I picked up my sister from school and had to do some cleaning.

You treated the fractions like they were not there. They did not enter into your calculations. Let me decide about whether you are no good or not. You are not capable of making that decision. Never judge yourself! Let others do that.
