calculating distance

using the formula D=S x T

given Speed=48km/h, time= 3h 45min

Do I make is 48 x 3 x 45/60 ?

Hi Mariner;

you're close...

you need to add the 45/60, or 3/4, or .75 to the three hours.

So you wind up with...

48 x (3 + .75)

I think we first calculate the time
time=3+(3/4)=15/4
D=48×(15/4)= 180 Km/h
