hey am just checking to see if i did these correct,
1. Find the GCF of [3x^3y^5z] and [ 21xy^3z^4].
3x^3y^5z= 3*x*x*x*y*y*y*y*y*z
21xy^3 z^4= 21*x*y*y*y*z*z*z*z
3xy^3z
2. Is sqrt(x) 7 a polynomial? Explain why or why not.
no sqrt(x) 7 is not a polynomial because it has the variable inside a radical.
3. Is x^5 + x^2 + x a polynomial? Explain why or why not.
yes x^5 + x^2 + x is a polynomial because i have coefficients that represent 1 (x's)
and my exponents of 5 and 2 and the third x makes it a trinomial the terms have non-negative integer powers of variables so it makes it a polynomial.
4. What is the degree of x^5 + x^2 + x? How do you know?
the degree of x^5 + x^2 + x is 5 because it's the largest exponents of the variable the degree is five because its the largest exponents of x
5. Simplify (3x^3 + 8x^2 2x + 4) + (6x^2 + 4x + 4).
3x^3+8x^2-2x+4+6x^2+4x+4
3x^3+6x^2+8x^2-2x+4x+4+4
(3x^3+14x^2+2x+8)
3x^3+8x^2-2x+4)
6x^2+4x+4
3x^3+14x^2+2x+8

hi reconsideryouranswer i got my answer from the online lesson that i take this is what it says in the
lesson :6x^ 2 NOT a polynomial term This has a negative exponent.
1/x^2 NOT a polynomial term This has the variable in the denominator.
sqrt(x) NOT a polynomial term This has the variable inside a radical.
4x2 a polynomial term

Hi zee-f;
Generally he is correct, if you were to phrase it that way for any expression you would run into the examples he gives. But for your specific case it is okay to phrase it that way because further simplification is impossible.

hi bobbym
yes he is generally right but for my teacher am ganna post that answer
these are the rest of the question i need help seeing if there correct
6. Simplify (5x^4 3x^2 + 7x 10) (2x^4 3x^3 + 6x 17)
6- 5x^4 3x^2+7x-10
2x^4-3x^3+6x-17
(3x^4-3x^2+3x^2+x+7)
7. Multiply 9x^3(4x + 7)
7-
9x^3*4x+9x^3*7
36x^3+63x^3= (99x^6)
8. Multiply (3x 1)(5x 9)
8- (3x*5x)-(3x*-9)-(-1*5)-(-1*-9)
(15x^2-27x-5x+9)
(15x^2-32x+9)
