I am fascinated by that too. Shouldn't it be
'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.'
'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it'
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I went to a lot of trouble to get those curly brackets. Took four or five tries with the Latex. Sob, sob.
In set notation 'language' a pair of curly brackets means 'the set of'*, so I think my version translates as
The set of integers is a proper subset of the set of rationals.
I take it you are interpreting my version as
The set containing the set of integers etc.
You may be right, but it's only notation. In my mathematics I define the correct notation as being the one I am using.
Bob
* as in
means "The set of values of x such that x is real and greater than 3."
