So I was doing my geometry and I came across this question:
Determine if each conditional is true. If false, give a counterexample:
If a cat is a bird, then it is Friday.
As we did this a month ago, we (class of 5 students) are debating on whether this is true or false, though the book says it is true.
So would this be true or false?
(I'm on the false side)
Whether it is true or false depending on the day.
If it is Friday it is true.
Another way to make it true is to name a bird as "cat".

hi Randomusername
The truth table for if-then ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truth_table ) is that it is only FALSE if the first statement is FALSE and the second TRUE. Therefore the compound statement is TRUE unless it is Friday.

How did this question get in geometry?
Actually I never watch Star Wars and not interested in it anyway, but I choose a Yoda card as my avatar in honor of our great friend bobbym who has passed away.
May his adventurous soul rest in peace at heaven.

Maybe the topic covers the use of logical proofs ?
