Let A_r = area of shaded region.

A_r = area of semicircle + area of rectangle.

Yes.

Maths isn't everything though.

I also do gardening, ornithology, volunteer with heath conservation, volunteer with show events at my local school, DIY, watch dvds and listen to music, visit relatives, go on holiday .......

1. Math isn't everything for me, too.

2. I also play solo guitar. I have been playing guitar since the age of 9.

3. I also arrange sheet music for solo guitar.

4. I was one of the lead guitar players at the Ebenezer Church in Brooklyn back in my teen years.

5. I also go to the Riegelmann Boardwalk at Coney Island when time and weather allows. I love sitting on the bench looking out over the ocean and watching the seagulls fly and do funny things.

6. NYC has become very dangerous, Bob, under democratic leadership. So, I try my best to avoid public gatherings. Trust me, this place is out of control and cops have been greatly reduced in power and authority.

7. I visit my mom every 2 or 3 weeks. My father passed away in April 2010 from stage 4 prostate cancer.

8. Although I am a Christian, I don't attend church. Have you seen what the modern day church has become?

9. I also enjoy reading Bible prophecy books. In fact, I have 3 college degrees. One of my degrees and studies is exactly that---Religious Education with a concentration on Biblical Eschatology.

10. Getting back to the guitar, I also compose my own pieces for solo guitar. I have written 12 pieces through the years.

11. I enjoy listening to Christian gospel quartets and trios. I love harmony music but not so much choirs. I like the King's Heralds Quartet and many more.

12. I also enjoy my Bible study time.

So, as you can see, I am not about math all day.
