Help me!!!!!!!!!!

Median salaries for two companies are $35,000 and $40,000. What additional info would be helpful to have before deciding which company you would like to work for?

I'd say probably the mode. Companies tend to have a pyramid hierarchy, which means that there are more low-paid jobs than high-paid ones (relative to each other).

The mode will therefore tell you the salary of the lowest-paid job, which is probably what you'll get as a new recruit.
