Averages are so awesome!
Like say we just guess the answer is 6.
Now the three 5's make 3 below by one.
And the two 7's make 2 above by one.
And the one 8 makes 1 above by two.
So 3 below, and 2 above times one AND 1 above by two.
Looks like 3 below versus 4 above.
So 6 is not exactly the answer.
Very interesting indeed.

That's a very useful method for making means a bit easier to find. I forgot what its name is though.
John has found that if all the numbers were 6 less than they are, then they would add up to 1 and so their average would be 1/7. Now just put the 6 back in and now we know that the average we're looking for is 6 1/7.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Cool!! Now add another 6 into the list to average.
Then you get 6 and 1/8. 49/8, yup, works.

Well, averages don't exist in real life... especially non-natural numbers. But all the same, averages are very interesting
I shall be on leave until I say so...

What did you mean that averages don't exist in real life?
Actually I never watch Star Wars and not interested in it anyway, but I choose a Yoda card as my avatar in honor of our great friend bobbym who has passed away.
