Conversion

Is it possible for us to convert Newtons into velocity? :what

I am a mathemagician. You ask why? I point up

Re: Conversion

The newton is the unit of force, not velocity. Velocity is measured in metres per second. Force and velocity are not the same.

Re: Conversion

What should I use to solve this problem?

A boat moves through the water with two forces acting on it. One is a 2.10 x 10^3 N forward push by the motor, and the other is a 1.80 x 10^3 N resistive force die to the water.
a.If it starts from rest, how far will it move in 12 s?
b.What will its speed be at the end of this time interval?

Re: Conversion

You need to know the mass of the boat. The resultant of the two forces on the boat is 2100 − 1800 = 600 N in the forward direction. So if its mass is m, its acceleration a is given by a = 600⁄m. Now use this value of a with the appropriate equations of motion to find what you need.
