particularly hard question on roots of cubic equations

I'm a bit stumped on this.

this is my working out so far (and don't worry i havn't solved it yet ^^)

it took me a while to see how you took that step before realising you had it arranged as the original equation equating to 0. Atleast i know i was going in the right direction smile

and yeh, checking the answer in the book your last equation is right, although they simplified it to:


The Beginning Of All Things To End.
The End Of All Things To Come.
