So...anyone here know anything about finding a radius?

What we're doing in school right now has literally nothing to do with pi, but I'm totally clueless about it. Anyone care to share their pi explanations?dunno

Yes, pi is 3.141 and it goes on longer forever. like 3.141592653589793238462643383279...
That's 26 digits or 25 after the decimal.

Now suppose you have a round lake and it's winter for skating,no snow on the ice.
Now Rebecca skates straight across the lake and it takes 1 minute.
Then Tom skates straight across the lake to meet her and it takes 1 minute.
Then Tom and Rebecca skate around the round lake along the edge and it
takes 3 point 141 minutes, that's pie minutes, spelt "pi" without the e.

So that's about 3 minutes and 8 or 9 seconds to skate around the lake.

8 times 7 is 56 and 9 times 7 is 63.  pi is about 3 and 1/7th.

Good explaination, John. Here's a link to 10,000 digits of pi, if you were ever to need it. http://www.nerdparadise.com/math/reference/digits/pi/

Simply put, pi is the ratio of the circumference of ANY circle to it's diameter. It finds application most popularly in finding the area of a circle. It is roughly 22/7 or 3.14.
