I have a Q. My brother just started college and needs help and I feel so dumb not being able to help him. Its been years since I was in an algebra class. The problem is P = C + CM. Solve for C. I know there has to be some division and subtraction to isolate that C but i'm just not getting it. Can anyone explain. Answer in the book is C = P/1 + M. Thx

Start with: P = C+CM
Factor C: P = C(1+M)
Divide by (1+M): P/(1+M) = C
Swap: C = P/(1+M)
