Well, the nth term of an arithmetic progression can be expressed as nx + y.
So using that, you can make two simultaneous equations:
6x + y = 19
17x + y = 41
Now you have two simultaneous equations, and so can find the values of x and y. Once you have those, set n=40 to get your answer.
