its X+4 divided by X-5 then minus y.  I couldnt figure out how else to write it.  Does it make sense now?

Re: Solve for X

Hi Spanky;

That is an expression not an equation. If you tell what that is equal to then perhaps it can be soved for X.

Re: Solve for X

It doesnt equal anything.  the question is:

Solve \frac{X+4}{X-5}-y for X

Maybe set it equal to zero?

Re: Solve for X

Hi Spanky;

Yes, you have to set it equal to something. Setting it equal to 0.

Times both sides by (x+5)
