multipling decimals

i was wondering if anyone can show me the steps of doing this problem:
   24.75
X 12.35   the answer that the book gives is 305.6625  and it doesn't show the steps of getting the answer and i keep getting different answers.  Please help me by showing me the steps of  solving this problem

Hi red dragon;

Multiply it without decimals:

     2475
  X 1235
  ----------
3056625

Now count up the number of places after the decimal of both numbers, you will get 4. Count off 4 from the right and place the decimal there.

305.6625
