Geometry

Find the perimerer and are of a right triangle if the shortest side is 16 in. and the longest side is 34 in. Include correct units with each part of the solutiondunno

The longest side will be the hypotenuse.
Use the Pythagoras theorem to find the other side.....

let a=16,c=34
b = √(c*c-a*a) = 30
perimeter = a + b + c = 80

Using the pythagorean theorem.

You get b = 30. The perimeter ia 16 + 30 + 34 = 80 inches

how do you solve for a leg on a right triangle using the pythagorean theorem when a=20, b=?, and c=25?

To calculate the longest side you would square the sides, add then square root.

To calculate a shorter side, square the sides, subtract and then square root.


So b = sqrt (625 - 400) = 15
