Okay im kinda new to this as level maths at collage and got given work to do over the xmas hols and still havent done it D:
Its a density question im stuck on which i know some of you guys are probably to smart to even need to think about it anymore but any way the quest is:
celling
\/
__________
\ / both angles between celling and wire are 38 degrees
\ /
\ / 20N north east (same on other side but north west)
\ / << wire
\ /
|
|
---
| | <<< metal block
---
The tension on each wire is 20N
i) show that the weight W of the metal block is about 25N.
I got: 20sin(38) = 12.3 x 2 = 24.6 <<< right or no???
ii) the metal block has a volume of 2.9x10 (to the -4) m cubed ( read that hows its written and it will make sence) calculate the density of the metal????
How do I do it!?!?
Please it to me ages to draw it out
Cheers Bry
hi bry
First answer is correct!
So 'plug in' weight = 25 N and acceleration = 10 (approx should be ok here) to get the mass in kilos
then density from top formula.

ps you could make a picture in 'Paint', save as a GIF and do an image upload next time

Beautiful!!!!! See its allways easy when you know how
And yes paint would be alot easier
Thank you so much, appreciate it
