Alright, start with the a's
a^2b * 4ab^2
= 4a(a)b^2
= 4a^2b^2
Add the exponents...
= 4a^3 b^4?

Exponent of the first b is 1. Exponent of the second b is 2. So you are saying 1 + 2 = 4?

Math means never having to say your sorry. You just say, "Oh, it was a typo." Even if you have 9 paragraphs of crud always say it was a typo.
