hi, I just started college and I'm glad I have found this site to help learn this old dog new tricks. It has been 16years since my last math class

yes, 16 years ago, the only requirement to graduate high school was pre-algebra 
and math was not important back then.. laying out of class with girls was my profession!
but yes, after looking at the problem y-y1=m(x-x1) for m solve for m, so to get m by itself, you divide the variables (x-x1) to both sides. Thanks! im learning ahaah
