Please Help Me Out
A=(-2,2) B=(2,-4) be the two Points and Point P Lies On the Line Segment AB, Such That AP=3 ? 7 AB, Find The Coordinate Of P.

Hi shivusuja,
Such That AP=3 ? 7 AB
I do not understand what this means. Did you mean ratio, something like AP:BP = 3:7 ?

hi shivusuja and gAr,
gAr: I agree. That's what it looks like to me. Just a typo in the question.
or maybe
Either way, it's not an exact answer.

Hi bob,
Your guess must be correct.
shivusuja might have pressed shift+/

Hi;
How about interpreting it like this, if we put the point P at ( - 2/7, - 4/7) we will have a line segment that is 3 / 7 the length of AB and is on the line AB.

Hi bobbym,
Our answers tally.

hi shivusuja, bobbym and gAr
Good day to you all.
shivusuja : Here is one way to do it.
Calculate the difference in the x coordinate of A and the x coordinate of B = (2 - -2) = 4
Now calculate 3/7 of this = 3/7 x 4 = 12/7
Add this to the x coordinate of A = -2 + 12/7 = -2/7
So the x coordinate of P is -2/7
Now do the same for the y coordinates.

Hello Bob and gAr;
Yes, but where is the OP? Who can answer that question?

Gone the same way as so many others.
There must be a big, virtual reality hole in the space time continuum that swallows them up.

ps. Just as well we've got each other to talk to!

Well gAr has a prediction. I am going to go with that.

Hi,
As it is, we cannot understand the question. You may have to clarify from the source.

Good afternoon, I think. I'm really impressed with your powers of prediction. How are you with lottery numbers?
shivusuja
I suggest you state that you are going to assume the typo we have spotted and do the question that way. I cannot think of anything else that makes sense. If it's for a homework question and I was your teacher, I'd be very impressed that you not only worked out what I meant to ask, but also then did it correctly. Double marks for that!
