I am stuck on this algebra question which is this........
2/7 + 3/5 = X x 3 + 1/2
(the X= an algebra x not a times.)
And the answer is 9/70. Please show me how to work out this answer in stages.
Thanks!
I am colourful and unique no doubt about it!

Hi;
Is this what you want?
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Whoops sorry I meant that the small x is a times and the X is an algebra X sorry again!

In algebra we use small letters in the back of the alphabet as variables. Typically x,y,z. Large letters are used in statistics.
That is the problem when your Capital X is changed to small x.
Multiply the whole equation by 7*5*2 = 70 to clear all fractions. Do you understand this step?
Can you solve this now?

Hi sweetpeaenc;
Thanks but that was not quite what I was looking for.
I do not understand. I posted an answer that was very close to the solution by leaving you with a simple linear equation. I was hoping that you would now join in on the work and finish it off. If you figured it out for yourself then that is point.
