No, they want the solution set from that one. And thank you.

Yes this one is written correctly. They just want solution set.

Hi survival;
I am getting, x = 42 / 17.

let me see if it takes. I was thinking the answer had to be denominator of 42. be right back.

You are exactly right. I had typed in 42/12, which was wrong, yours was right.:)

Let's see. Here's one with decimals. 0.04(y + 9000) = 1440. They want a solution set.
I can stay up about another forty minutes. Then I can get enough sleep hopefully. I hope tomorrow is not a repeat of Monday.

Hi survival;
.04 * 9000 = 360 so;
Subtract 360 from both sides.
Divide by .04 on both sides.
y = 27000

Post # 113 is an answer to your question.
I am trying to survive math this time.
We need to have a talk about that. If you read what I wrote in post # 113 than you will see that math is everywhere. The world is becoming increasingly technical. Old jobs are disappearing. There are a number of people in here that had to go back to school to learn math because their lifelong occupation no longer exists.

I had a professor in historical geology and physical geology a couple of semesters. He said that math and sciences were the only professions that would not hurt. He said math and the sciences are short in demand for qualified people.
I have to brag because I am so stupid in math, but I got two semesters of A's in those two classes.

So you are surviving too? It is the way of life and nothing in life is ever easy except getting in debt.

Our country is 27th in the world in science and lower than that in math. You did not get my point. Math does not go away. It is only going to become more prevalent. Like I said trades disappear. What happened to me in my fields should not happen to anyone else.

Were you in the field of math or science? If so, then you should have a really good paying employment.

I wanted to be a scientist when i was a kid. The stars fascinated me, but when I got into high school, i found out i could not do math required for college. And so that dream didn't happen.
