Could someone please work this. It is driving me nuts.
The numbers to this fuzzy picture are (72-11x) degrees +(41-6x)degrees = (92 - 24x) degrees
The equation reads:
For the given triangle, find the measure of the exterior angle BCD.
The measure of angle BCD is________
A total of three answers, different lines.
Thank you.

Hi survival;
I can not read that at all. Do you know how to use an online whiteboard?

hey, no, I don't know what that is. Tell me.

Please go here and play with it for a while. You might be able to draw your figure and save it. Then I will tell you how to upload it.

it keeps turning into another type of triangle.
Tell ya what. Just solve the equation and i will figure out the last three parts. How's that?
(72 + 11x) + (41 + 6x) = (92 - 24x)

That is not likely as the answer for x is - 21 / 41.

oh me, that is a fraction. Won't work. I have messed with this problem for days on and off. Kept clicking over to a new one, and the last part is the hold up. I am sure it's simple. I want to take geometry someday. I like this stuff.

oh and the due date is tomorrow night i think. LOL

Go back to the dabbleboard and click freehand. That will turn off the shape recognizer. Then you will be able to draw what you like.

what do you online besides math?

I am currently on 4 or 5 math forums. So that keeps me busy.
How is the drawing coming along. Have you figured the palette yet?

Yes, I know about that question. One thing at a time. What about the drawing? Were you able to get it finished?

I am sorry you did not finish the picture. Next time you are in here I will try show you how. Tell me how you do on your exams.

hi survival,
Just picked this up after being away for a while.
So can you now work out the angles in the triangle. I cannot make out from your original diagram.
The exterior angle of any triangle is the sum of the two opposite angles in the triangle ( by use of angle sum = 180).
If that's not enough describe it in words like this:
In the triangle ABC the angle BAC = ..... etc.
LATER EDIT
Aarrggh. I think I've got it. The diagram has two internal angles (72-11x) and (41-6x) and the exterior angle opposite these and equal to 92 - 24x.
So I guess the exterior angle you are seeking is 92 - 24x where x = -3 .... = 92 + 72 = 164.
EVEN LATER EDIT
Is this the diagram below?

Yes, that's the one except the line is turned to the right. I did finally get the right answer after I flipped the problem and it gave me a new one. I still don't understand it but it is correct now.
Yours solution was correct too.

Thanks, I will let you know. I have tomorrow and a test on stats/other class test yesterday was a tough one. Too many numbers upstairs to think straight.

I think your picture may be 'back to front' on the post. D and C look that way to me.
Anyway, not to worry, we got there!
Good luck with the tests.
