You have the roots of the denominator?

Hi bobbym

What do you say about putting this problem for later?

I would like to see the problem you found!

Could you also look at the small oh thread?

Re: Oh,Oh,Oh,merry analysis!!!

Hi;

If I wanted to get e^.51 to 500 digits of accuracy how many terms of its Mclaurin series are necessary?

As you know I do not like or remember much about the school methods of using Landau notation.

Re: Oh,Oh,Oh,merry analysis!!!

Looks like you already had a problem or two to work on over here.

Get the GF of the sequence 1,1,1,3,5,9,17,31,57,...

Hi;

That is very good. How can you test your answer?

Re: Oh,Oh,Oh,merry analysis!!!

Hi bobbym

Just expand and see if the coefficients match up.

Re: Oh,Oh,Oh,merry analysis!!!

Always test your answers. When you can not prove something is true at least verify it for all the small numbers. Last thing you want is someone finding that a number like 2 is a counterexample.

Re: Oh,Oh,Oh,merry analysis!!!

Hi bobbym

It's pretty late, so testing is not an option.

Yes, it is late. So should you not be sleeping? Ever seen a quadratic solved and the answers did not work?

I meant when it worked out correctly but it still was not the roots. That is why you always check.

Not yet. There is a problem with the other answer. The tenth coefficient is under question.

Hi bobbym

Well I don't know what the tenth coefficient is!

Re: Oh,Oh,Oh,merry analysis!!!

Hi bobbym

Well I noticed that each of the terms are the sum of the last three terms.

yes, it is a Tribonacci sequence but that does not mean that you have the correct gf.
