Hmmm
Always another way.
So I will present it:
Marty: I am having trouble with the whole time time travel thing.
Doc Brown: That is because you are still not thinking 4th dimensionally.
Marty: Right! Right! I keep forgeting that.

I was not hatched from an egg. There was an m before me.
TheReal m: You are a surface thinker.
bobbym: Why?
TheReal m: Because you do not listen when someone is talking to you.
bobbym: Of course I do!
TheReal m: No, while someone is speaking to you, you are thinking about what to say in reply instead of listening carefully to what it is being said.
bobbym: You are right.

Xaxaxa...But that doesn't help me with the integral.

Please reread the post. It is directly applicable to that integral.

Hmmm. The posts leading up to #530 inclusive explain your puzzlement. Please read them one more time or until you have a comment about them that relates to this integral

If I understood correctly I am not thinking of the integral as an indefinite one?

Nothing.I tried and tried, but I couldn't come up with anything.I tried IBP,Regular sub, change of argument from x to a+b-x,...Nothing seems to give results.
10 posts leading up to this. Remember Doc Brown? You are not thinking experimentally. I do not see Wolfram on that list up there. I try Wolfram first before ever doing any integral. Try it now and you will see a Sisyphean task.

Wolfram is what I tried first, and it does give the correct answer on the indefinite integral and something with polylogarithmic function for the indefinite integral, but it still doesn't help me solve the integral by hand.

Pretty, it should have non - elementary functions in it! Before you do a definite integral by hand you have to do an indefinite one first. Now, how on earth are you going to get that answer with any of the ideas you were taught?

I think I am not gonna.I was thinking later of DUIS or Contour integration, but I know neither of this very well.
And I wasn't taught any of the methods! I learned all of them myself.

Because you are caught up in old fashioned mathematics. Remember Feynman?
Let me ask you a question, where does that integral come from?

Do not need to. You are missing my point. gAr does not work in conventional ways. If you attempt to solve mine or his problems using book methods you will fail. Book methods only work on book problems.
