New problem:

A country has 3 towns. They are called A,B and C. The country is poor and can only afford one amusement park. Each day 100 people from each town go to it.

The distance from A to B is 200 miles. The distance from A to C is 400 miles. The distance from B to C is 300 miles. B is located at (200,0)

Gasoline and automobiles are standardized. There is only one type of car and this car gets 20 miles to the gallon at all speeds and driving styles. Gasoline costs 5 dollars per gallon in town A. Gasoline costs 4 dollars per gallon in town B. Gasoline costs 4.5 dollars per gallon in town C.

Since the state pays for the gasoline used on these trips to the amusement park they would like to place the amusement park in such a location so that the cost of the gasoline used is a minimum.

The state calls in its finest mathematicians. We are familiar with them.

A says) Clearly a problem in the tensor calculus. If we work in 26 dimensions as Einstein did then the problem reduces down to the Torricelli point. That is where the amusement park should be.

B says) Hold on A. That is not correct and it is easy to prove it.

C says) The Torricelli point. A you are brilliant! How do always get the right answer?

D says) Okay, what the heck is a Torricelli?

E says) Who, not what.

Where should the amusement park go?
