Hmmmm. You know that my threads are for computer math. That is they are most easily answered with a computer. They are there to demonstrate an important point. To knock it into people's noggins.

Base 3 was an instructor I was unfortunate enough to have had.

All his test questions and homework and even his lessons always had answers of 0,1 and 2. Sometimes they would be a sqrt(2) or 1 / 2 or 2 π.

Everybody got great marks. Then I noticed that the whole math department was like that. That is how they destroyed my lifes dream.

Slyly they convinced me that all mathematics consisted on 0,1,2 and various operators on them. When I got in chemistry some industrial mathematics I could not deal with it. I just could not understand what a number like 2.3178253 or 1.2736 * 10^(-17) was.
