New Problem:

We start with the sequence a0, a1, a2, a3,... with a0 being a positive integer and the recurrence

1) Can you find an a0 that will produce an infinite sequence?

2) An a0 that will produce a finite sequence?

What do you exactly mean by a finite sequence?

That would be an infinite sequence. A finite one would be one that ran out of digits. Remember a digit is sometimes just dropped! If I show you one it gives the answer away.
