Re: Bafflers?

If we have the curve

and the points A(8,8+2√ (2)), B(8,0) and C(0,0) see the diagram.

We need to have two triangles put under the curve and bounded by the x axis, y axis and x = 8. The red and blue triangles are examples.

Where on the curve do we need to place D so that the triangles have equal area? Just one other thing, we need avery accurate answer for D's coordinates. It must be accurate to 20 decimal places or more.

Okay..
People celebrate, but I prefer to stay away from the crowd. I like silence!

Re: Bafflers?

Course's okay for now, will be over in a few months.
Have some new things to learn on the job as well, so not much time's left for myself.

Re: Bafflers?

New problem:

There are 4 circles that overlap each other.
Circle A has a center at (4, 2.3) and a radius of 1.

Circle B has a center at ( 6.4 , 1.25) and a radius of 2.

Circle C has a center at (10 , 4.5) and a radius of 3.

Circle D has a center at (4 , 7.25) and a radius of 4.

There is a small area in the middle of the 4 circles that none of them cover. What is that area?
