Hi, need help with this problem, I have no idea how to even start it.
a)Determining the coordinates of the point N, situated twice near the end R (8.2) as the end S (-1.2) of RS.

Hi;
Do you mean twice as close to R(8,2) as S(-1,2)?
That drawing looks backwards. Shouldn't S be to the left of R?
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

It means it's closer to R then it is to S. (twice closer)
There was no drawing in the problem, I just did it myself and added the letter in alphabetical order.
If there is something you don't understand in my text, tell me and I'll try to reformulate it. (

Hi;
I understand what you want but have to point out that a coordinate of (-1,2) is to the left of (8,2).

hi Al-Allo
How to start?
(i) Make a graph and plot the points.
(ii) distance between is 9 units
for twice as close divide distance into 3 parts
give 2 parts to S and 1 to R
see diagram.
