I was going to, but there are so many other options to try as well that I didn't bother. I think it's pretty clear that the main problem with deletions is that the plug-in goes awol when confronted by a space in the filename.
That probably stems from DOS days.

Hi phrontister;
The problems with deleting a post have happened to me even without spaces in filenames. Even without pictures. I thought it was firefox.
That is not exactly what you are doing but I always thought the two problems were related and were unique to me.

Hi Bobby,
Although I have Firefox I've never used it for forum posts, so I have no experience with it on that score. I used to use IE, but always GC now.
I saw what you said in post #46:
You must edit before you can delete.
I didn't know that...I'll have to try it some time.

Hi phrontister;
It is hard to test because you are not supposed to delete posts for no reason, unlike the images it affects totals and things.

Ah, yes. Ok..."when necessary", then.

Didn't Dev post and delete just to boost his post count? I think this is more helpfull thus more allowable. The action still needs the approval of a mod or an admin.

Hi all,
It seems that multiple images in a post are automatically sorted into ascending filename order, despite the selected Upload Slot order.
A specific left-to-right order can be achieved using ascending alphabetic or numeric prefixes for the filenames.
My first attempt with this post - where I hadn't used that tactic - positioned the images in the following order, even though I'd selected the last one in Upload Slot #1, the first one in Upload Slot #2 and the second one in Upload Slot #3:-
First image - "WHWGAWIGW-partial solution"
Second image - "WHWGAWIGW-solution.png"
Last image - "Who has which garden and what is grown where.png"
After I resubmitted my post with prefixes 2, 3 and 1 respectively, the images displayed in the correct order.

Hi MathsIsFun,
The option that existed previously of being able to insert an image into a post from the Edit page seems to have disappeared, and I can now only insert images into a new post.
I found the old way to be useful for replacing an existing image (eg, to update or correct it), which I could do by using the same file name as the original.
Is it possible to bring that feature back?
