Yes, it does. There is another proof that 0.999... = 1

Let x = 0.999... [Equation 1]
Or, 10x = 9. 999.... [Equation 2]

Subtracting [Equation 2] - [Equation 1]:
9x = 9.000
Or, x = 1

It makes sense but a simpler version of of it is:

1/3 = 0.3333.....
3/3 = 1
3*0.33333 = 0.99999.....
3*1/3 = 1
o.9999.... = 1
