Inclusion-Exclusion
In a survey of 100 people, 18 speaks english and only english, 23 speak english but not hindi, 8 speak both hindi and sanskrit, 26 speak english, 48 speak sanskrit, 8 speak both sanskrit and english, 24 speak no language.
How many people speak hindi?
How many people speak both hindi and english?
Please explain how to solve the problem.

hey, I made it just now.From R D Sharma, right?
Use venn diagram(intersection).
assign values to those alphabets as per the requirement of the question.
Use the data above like
a+b+d+e=26
and similarly make other eqns.
It will be solved.

There are M programs that will draw nice Venn diagrams and even help fill them in.
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
