liner equation need to be solved !

i have this liner equation  that i am trying to solve for a while , i can get X answer with the calculator , but i want the way to solve the equation
im sure that its easy for u guys xD . . .

this is the equation :

X/4 + 1/6x = 0.5

Divide everything by 10

What do you need on that one? How to finish it?

Just subtract 7x from both sides and you are done.

By the way, bravo that you can solve it by calculator before you could do it algebraically. In my whole life I have never met any person like that.

i dont know if u r mocking me or what about the calculator thing , but i cant tell anything because u solved that problem

about the picture , when the guy multiplied with 14 both side  , he divided the  14 by 2 in the left side , why ?

Nope, I was serious about the calculator thing. The last time I mocked somebody he punched me in the face. I learned a valuable lesson. Either walk around wearing face protection or do not mock people.

you can think of that as

14 divided by 2 is 7 as you already know. Anytime we see numbers or expressions in the numerator and denominator we can cancel like terms.

we can cancel the 2 that is in the top and bottom, leaving just a 7. Is that clear or do you want a few more examples?
