Seven peas are generated from parents having the green/yellow pair of genes., so there is a .75 probability that an individuaal pea will have a green pod. find the probability that among 7 offspring peas, at least 6 have green pods. is it unusual to get at least 6 peas with a green pod when 7 offspring peas are generated?
Is it unusual to,randomly select 7 peas and find that at least 6 of them have a green pod? Note t hat a small probability is one that is less than 0.05.

1. Find the standard score (z) for which 50% of the area under the normal curve is below the mean.
2. Find the z-score for the standard normal distribution where the area is 0.85 to the left of z.

You need to calculate P(all seven green) + P(exactly six green).
Is this unusual? Compare your probability with the given value of 0.05
1. Find the standard score (z) for which 50% of the area under the normal curve is below the mean.
The standard normal distribution has a mean of zero and a standard deviation of 1. It is symmetrical with 50% above the mean and 50% below.
2. Find the z-score for the standard normal distribution where the area is 0.85 to the left of z.
You need to use a standard table to look up the z that gives 0.85
Look here:

The interactive graph should be set to "Up to z". If you want to use the table note that it only shows z values from half way so you'll have to use with P = 0.85 - 0.5
